Being with God Together
Our Sunday Worship is at 10:30am
The New Testament describes the church gathering regularly for worship:
Declaring His praises is far more than the music we offer. Living life in the world God put us in gives us our assignment clearly; tells people by our lives who God is, and provides an environment for people to do just that.
Sharing our faith in the context of worship reminds us that we are not alone.
Hearing God speak to us through His Word helps us to learn together and minister to one another.
Hearing what God is doing around the world reminds us that our church is bigger than our Johns Hopkins Road location.
Standing with a multitude of people from all walks of life and singing (in unison!) that God is holy, that our faith lies in Christ alone, and that we are devoted to giving our lives to love and follow him - all deepen our relationship with God through a corporate setting in ways unlike that of any other experience during the rest of our week.
- It takes far more than a good choice of music and a thoughtful sermon for this to happen.
- The athlete trains individually before joining his or her skills with the rest of the team.
- An instrumentalist works on his or her scales and exercises before joining the orchestra.
- So it must be in the body of Christ; we must have our time one-on-One with Him. We must develop our relationship with just Him before gathering with others. Our own Sunday Worship experience will be deepened when have invested time and focus beforehand.
